On Sunday 25th October 2015 UFRC & Walking In Your Community joined Belfast City Council in Orangefield Park, Belfast for the final Silver Sunday Walk of the Positive Ageing Festival 2015.
Silver Sunday walks are a UK wide initiative that celebrates the value and knowledge older people contribute to their communities. Usually celebrated on the first Sunday in October Belfast City Council extended the celebrations throughout the month of October holding walks in four parks located across Belfast.
A number of outdoor activity providers and walking/rambling clubs including The Ulster Federation of Rambling Clubs were represented at the event, displaying in the pavilion throughout the afternoon.
The walk was lead around the park by the park ranger before participants enjoyed homemade soup, tea/coffee and tasty buns upon their return to the pavilion.
