Friends Hiking Group meet every Sunday to enjoy various walks around the Mournes and further afield, including Wicklow, Kerry and Donegal. Most members have a lot of experience but beginners are encouraged to join and will be given a lot of support. Walkers of all ages are welcome, with under 18’s being accompanied by an adult.
We provide training in navigation, including night navigation, and First Aid (REC Level 2).
We allow each new member up to 2 “free” walks before joining the club, and as we are affiliated to the UFRC each member benefits from Third Party Insurance and club discount.
Membership year runs from 1st February to 31st January and annual fees are £20/€25 per person.
