Location: Mourne Mountains, Starting/Finishing at Ott car park on the Slievenaman Road.
Length of Walk: Approx. 8km
Number of Spaces: Spaces are limited to 12 people and expected to fill up fast. Places should be reserved no later than Friday 15th September.
Join Friends Hiking Group this October for a beautiful walk right to the heart of the Mourne Mountains and onto one of the smaller mountains in the Mournes, Doan (594 metres high). You will see and cross the historic Mourne Wall and be surrounded by all the big mountains. A fantastic wee walk for anyone wanting to take up hill walking and experience the fun and friendship of walking with a group.
The main meeting for the group will be at Ott Car park on the Slievenaman Road at 10:30am where the walk starts/finishes.
This event is part of the Ulster Federation of Rambling Clubs (UFRC) Open Weekend.
What to bring: Warm clothes, hill walking boots, waterproofs, backpack with a packed lunch and water
Suitability: Walkers must be aged over 16+ yrs and accompanied by an adult if under 18 yrs old.
How to book: To book please send an email to Spaces are limited to 12 people and so will be allocated on a first come first served basis. A reserve list will be made once the limit is reached.
