Great Turnout at UFRC AGM

On Saturday 17th October 2015 UFRC Members attended the federations Annual General Meeting (AGM) in The Stables, Groomsport, Co. Down,  hosted by North Down & Ards U3A Scramblers.

Presentations were given on the day by;

  • Representatives from North Down & Ards U3A Scramblers on their recent walking trips to France, Spain and Italy
  • UFRC/ Walking In Your Community Coordinator Claire Overend on the joint project funded by Sport NI, including upcoming training opportunities for all UFRC Members.
  • Richard Watson, General Manager of the Marble Arch Caves & Global Geopark on the work made to date to preserve the blanket bog on Cuilcagh Mountain.

The AGM was followed by a walk along the spectacular North Down Coastal Path between Groomsport and Donaghadee taking in the picturesque Portavoe Reservoir.
