The National Trust seeks to encourage healthy outdoor exercise and in pursuit of this objective has devised over 50 walks on a number of its Northern Ireland properties. Walks are available,free of charge, in very scenic locations and, importantly, with agreed access for all responsible walkers. Information is available from Trust head office at Rowallane House,Saintfield also online at http://www.nationaltrust.org.uk/ A very pleasant introduction took place on Tuesday 28th Augustat Terrace Hill on the Trust’s Minnowburn property near Shaw’s Bridge,Belfast. Heather Thompson,the NI Director,welcomed Anna Lo MLA who formallyintroduced ”The Great NI Walk ” Anna Lo is Chair of the NI Assembly Environment Committee and has proved herself to be very supportive of the Federation’s efforts in seeking amendment to access legislation. The Federation was most ably represented by Barbara and George Acheson.
