The Ulster Federation of Rambling Clubs [UFRC] on behalf of its members, submitted a response letter of objection, regarding the Amended Planning Application to construct a commercial wind turbine farm, in the western Mourne AONB area.
Other objectors include ‘Mountaineering Ireland’ [MI] and the ‘Mourne AONB Against Windfarms Group’.
The UFRC is not against wind development or renewable energy. Each case is considered on its own merits. However, the extent of wind development so far allowed in upland areas means that the landscape character in upland Northern Ireland is now at a critical stage.
The UFRC will continue to highlight issues which may adversely impact on walkers and others who have an interest in the countryside.
