Donegal County Council and Metro Building Contractors have advised hillwalkers that the walking paths on Slieve League will be closed during the week commencing Monday 18th August to facilitate the delivery of stone to carry out path repair works on the coastal path. As weather conditions will play a part in the speed of delivery, this work may take several days.
The closure affects the coastal path north of Bunglas, as well as the Pilgrim Path and the One Man’s Pass which are both on the helicopter flight path. Although the closure will affect hillwalkers, the majority of visitors to Slieve League will be unaffected as the car-park and viewing platform area at Bunglas will remain open throughout. These works are being funded by Fáilte Ireland and Donegal County Council.
