Walk Volunteer Opportunity With NI Hospice

Posted on February 9th, 2016 · Posted in Latest News

Northern Ireland Hospice are looking the help of 2 volunteers to act as ‘Walk Beacons’ around the route of their Hospice Walk at Belfast Castle on Sat 14th May.

Keen for walkers to get the very best experience, knowing they are taking the correct path and route, they are keen to recruit experienced volunteers. The aim of the walk is not for the walkers to be ‘guided’ as such, but to have a ‘beacon’ to ensure they are on the right path. The route has already been planned and they are more than happy to relay this to anyone who is interested in helping at this event.

The walk starts at 10am and takes in approximately 3 miles of Cavehill and Belfast Castle grounds. They are expecting around 100-150 walkers.

It is likely to take no more than 2-3 hours that morning and would be so appreciated.

To find out more about how you can help please contact Laura Gray, Phone: or email:

They also have walks taking place at Lagan Towpath, Larne and Colin Glen on 16th April, Carrickfergus and Ballymena on 14th May and North Down and Portrush on 11th June, should these be of interest to any walkers.
