Welcome Walk with Wee Binnians (UFRC Open Weekend 2018)

The social club that walks, rain, hail or shine this welcome walks is a chance for new or rejoining hillwalkers to explore the Mourne Mountains.

Wee Binnians are inviting 25 guests to join them for a 5km Welcome Walk on Sunday 14th October 2018.

The idea for new or rejoining hillwalkers with some experience to get out into the hills. This 10-12km walk will follow rough track to open heath & bog before joining the path to Hare’s Gap and proceed along the Brandy Pad which affords stunning views of the high Mournes. Contouring round Slieve Bernagh on the Brandy Pad the group will then hike up to the Mourne Wall, over the style before hiking down to Trassey Track and Meelmore Lodge.

What to wear:
Warm clothes, Hill walking boots (not trainers), waterproofs, backpack with packed lunch water or flask for tea or coffee.

Suitability:
This walk is suitable to new or rejoining hillwalkers with uphill experience and a reasonable level of fitness. Over 18s only, no dogs allowed. If any particular needs/mobility issues walker must be accompanied throughout by a competent hillwalkers and contact club in advance.
