The Ecosystems Knowledge Network (EKN) disseminates knowledge about the practical benefits of the ecosystems approach. This conference, organised by NIEL in conjunction with EKN, promotes the use of the ecosystem approach in Northern Ireland. Delegates will learn about the UK experience of applying the ecosystems approach and what this has achieved in public money savings and public goods delivery.
Outcomes
• Greater understanding of the value ecosystems provide the people of Northern Ireland.
• Awareness of the usefulness of the ecosystem services approach by decision makers.
• Recognition of work looking at valuing nature and heritage that is going on throughout the UK.
